About Sparkle City Comics

Serving Comic Collectors Since 1976

For nearly fifty years, the Sparkle City Comics name has been part of the comic book hobby.

Founded in 1976, Sparkle City Comics became known through comic conventions, mail-order catalogs, and decades of buying and selling comic books. Long before online marketplaces and grading companies transformed the hobby, collectors knew the Sparkle City name as a trusted source for vintage comics and collector knowledge.

Today, that legacy continues.

Sparkle City Comics operates under the leadership of Brian Schutzer and together with the team behind Neat Stuff Collectibles. We combine over fifty years of Sparkle City history with decades of modern market experience to help collectors buy, sell, preserve, and appreciate comic books and related collectibles.

Our mission remains simple:

Treat collectors fairly, understand what they own, and make the process easy.

A Legacy That Dates Back to 1976

The comic book hobby has changed dramatically over the last half century.

Sparkle City Comics has witnessed many of those changes firsthand.

We’ve seen:

Through every era, collectors have always valued the same things:

Those principles remain the foundation of Sparkle City Comics today.

From Collector to Collector

Brian Schutzer’s relationship with Sparkle City Comics began long before becoming its steward.

As a young collector attending New York conventions, one of the first Silver Age books he purchased was an Amazing Spider-Man #14 from the original Sparkle City Comics.

That experience helped inspire a lifelong passion for collecting.

Today, Brian is founder and CEO of Neat Stuff Collectibles and has spent more than twenty-five years buying, selling, and evaluating comic books, original comic art, toys, trading cards, and pop culture memorabilia.

Unlike many buyers, Brian approaches collections first as a collector.

That perspective matters.

Because every collection represents something different:

At Sparkle City Comics, we understand that.

What Makes Sparkle City Comics Different?

Many companies buy comic books. Very few have nearly fifty years of history behind their name, and even fewer combine that history with a modern, full-time operation dedicated to comics and collectibles
every day.

We’re active participants in the market we buy collections, sell comics, evaluate original art, work with CGC and CBCS books, attend conventions, and study market trends. And most importantly, we’re collectors ourselves.

Why choose Sparkle City Comics?

Why Collectors Trust Sparkle City Comics

For nearly 50 years, Sparkle City Comics has earned the trust of collectors through honest evaluations, fair offers, exceptional service, and deep experience buying comic books, original comic art, and entire collections.

Many people worry they need to organize or catalog everything before contacting us. You don’t. In most cases, photographs and a brief description are enough to begin our job is helping you understand what you have.

Estate Collections And Inherited Comics

One of the most common calls we receive comes from families who have inherited comic books. Often they have questions like:

These are important questions, and comic books can be complicated. Condition, restoration, first appearances, signatures, page quality, and market demand all influence value, and a collection that appears ordinary can contain books worth thousands of dollars. Our goal is to help families understand their options and provide straightforward advice.
