WEREWOLF BY NIGHT #1 CGC 9.0 WHITE PAGES 1972 MARVEL MIKE PLOOG BRONZE AGE
Item description from the seller
After making his debut earlier that year in Marvel Spotlight #2, Jack Russell proved popular enough to receive his own ongoing title, beginning with this issue. The story continues directly from Marvel Spotlight #4 and features Gerry Conway on story with the unmistakable artwork of Mike Ploog and Frank Chiaramonte. Ploog also provided the dramatic cover, making this a particularly desirable issue for collectors of his classic Marvel horror work.
Werewolf by Night became one of the defining supernatural Marvel titles of the Bronze Age and would later become even more significant with the introduction of Moon Knight in issue #32. This first issue represents the beginning of that important 43-issue run and remains one of the cornerstone books of Marvel’s early-1970s horror revival.
This is an especially attractive example, earning a CGC 9.0 grade along with the desirable White Pages designation. The bold red cover presents beautifully at this grade and makes for an impressive display copy.
An excellent opportunity to acquire a high-grade example of a classic 1972 Marvel Bronze Age #1, featuring one of the era’s signature horror characters and some of Mike Ploog’s most recognizable Marvel work.
CGC Certification #4583590002.
The CGC holder presents very well. Please review the provided high-resolution front and back images for the exact condition and presentation of the comic and holder.
