There’s a fine line between being a comic book fan and being totally addicted to comic books. They are a great source of entertainment, education (especially for kids) and even sometimes investment opportunity.

Once you get going, it’s hard to stop!

Ok, so you need more comic books. Here are the best places to look, whether you’re looking to make money from buying and selling comic books, or just interested in reading more and expanding your comic book repertoire:

Local Meetup Group

Sometimes the best deals are the ones that happen spontaneously. And that will only happen if you’re around like-minded people. Meetup.com is a website that helps people come together with common interests. If there’s a comic book or comic book related meetup in your area, you’re in luck! Sometimes they will have buying and selling events, but even if they don’t, once you meet people and talk to them, you’re bound to find someone who’s looking to sell something.

Local Comic Book Store

Comic book stores are rather few and far between these days, but if you’re lucky enough to have one close by, you should take advantage of it. Not only is it a great place to browse, but they are usually staffed with very knowledgeable employees that can help you find comics you’d be interested in but may not even know exist.

Local Pawn Shop

Local pawn shops have a very inconsistent offering, but if you’re looking for that hidden gem, this is one of the best spots to look. Pawn shops are in the business of moving inventory fast, so you could also get a very good price if you know what you’re looking for.

Garage Sales

If you like to go bargain hunting and you’re looking for that hidden gem, you need to be at all your local garage sales and estate sales. Comic books are rather specific, so you may not come across a lot, but when you do, it’s a guarantee that the seller wants to unload them and would usually accept pennies on the dollar. Be aware of comics in bad condition though.

Craigslist

Craiglist has a great For Sale section. There is no section specific to comic books, so you should browse all related categories to be sure you covered the entire selection– Toys & Games, Collectibles, Books, Antiques, Garage Sale, and so on. Always be vigilant when buying and selling on Craigslist.

eBay

Obviously eBay is another great place to find comic books for sale. We actually have a great storefront that lists all of our comic book auctions here.

Whether you’re looking to buy or sell comics, Sparkle City Comics can help you out! We always have great eBay auctions going, and we’re always looking to buy comic books, so call us at 800-743-9205 or fill out our seller inquiry form now!
